Marina Bay New Year Countdown
If you are in town for Singapore’s New Year Celebrations get ready for a great time. Events centre on Marina Bay, and start early afternoon on New Year’s Eve. I’ll be casting a New Year’s wish on a bell charm down at The Esplanade in the afternoon. The bells are said to hold onto your wishes. The bell charms are hanging as part of the Celebrate December festivities happening in the area, and include arts and crafts and classical and modern musical performances.
After that, stop by the Marina Bay Waterfront New Year Bazaar, where stallholders are sell all manner of interesting finds – from collectibles and accessories to party glow-sticks – all with a festive smile. Retailing will go on right up to the New Year countdown, the fireworks and beyond. My bags will be bulging!
At the world’s largest floating stadium, The Float will be holding a mega-party for dance and music mad revelers. A music concert starring Adam Lambert plus a host of local stars will be followed by a TV show. A dance party with DJ Tinc kicks off after the fireworks display at 12.45.
No matter which area you choose to party, Marina Bay is the place to ring in the New Year in Singapore.
Ask my team to give you a map of the party spots, and plan ahead to enjoy all the celebrations. My team at Makan@Jen’s kitchen will cook up something impressive for the buffet tables, so be sure to make your reservation early. Don’t forget to head to the rooftop pool after your New Year’s Eve dinner – you’ll be able to see the Marina Bay New Year fireworks in a more relaxed setting!
