Uncover some Beaches…
If you are in Malé for a day or so as a stopover or before heading to your beach resort and can’t resist the lure of the sand, try heading over to the artificial beach on Malé’s eastern side. The manmade beach is a welcome breather from city life for the locals and many mingle there on the beach and at the small café. Remember that since it’s a public spot, wearing t-shirts and shorts is a must.
Just a little further afield, Kuda Bandos is a beautiful uninhabited island around 30 minutes from Malé, and is open to tourists all week, except Fridays. For a fee it’s possible to charter a boat to the secluded spot. Usually you’ll have the pristine sand and sea all to yourselves – a private island getaway!
Ask my team about the possibilities and you’ll soon be dipping your toes in the sand.
