Enjoy a Night at the Racecourse
Hong Kong offers so many unique experiences but one of the famous and the fun ones is a night at the Happy Valley Races. Hong Kong has a huge horse racing past left from the times of British rule. It’s still as exciting now as it was then and is almost a national pastime.
Every Wednesday the crowds gather at the Happy Valley Racecourse, a large patch of green surrounded by skyscrapers. I love being a part of the crowd in the stands, yelling and shouting as the horses gallop round the racecourse. By the time the horses round the last bend, everyone is jumping up and down whether they placed a bet or not.
A night at the races is truly a one-off experience, and a great way to get out there and meet the locals.
