Hotel Jen Penang, located centrally in the heart of Penang’s vibrant and bustling George Town (on Magazine Road), is currently undergoing a much anticipated enhancement programme. 
 
BTR Hong Kong, recently having completed works at Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore, is undertaking the enhancement programme, which is expected to make a mark on the service and style unique to Hotel Jen and ensure that each stay starts with anticipation and ends on a high. 
 
The programme encompasses the entire Hotel Jen Penang in three phases: all guestrooms and suites; public spaces, including the lobby, the popular Club Lounge and the corridors; and re-design of the lobby and reception desk, along with Hotel Jen’s signature On-The-Go lobby coffee shop. The hotel remains fully operational during the enhancement process. 
 
Hotel Jen Penang’s M$ 60 million transformation pays homage to its unique local surroundings, capturing its energy and the neighbourhood’s evolution and incorporating all the comfort and expectations of today’s travellers. It is the hotel’s first major enhancement programme in 30 years since opened in 1986. 
 
The project is set to be completed in June 2017 and the first phase is expected to be completed by the end of October 2016. The hotel will constantly provide updates throughout the enhancement process and as the work progresses, along with updates on phases two and three. 
 
All measures are taken to minimise disruption to hotel guests, with works confined between 9 am and 6 pm – an ideal time for guests to be either at work or out discovering the charm of George Town’s heritage. 
 
The management of Hotel Jen Penang is excited and eager to bring new life to the hotel in the unique UNESCO World Cultural Heritage City, George Town.
