The Grand Tour: Seeing the City Sights
Once you get your feet on the ground, it's time to explore what Brisbane has to offer! Start by seeing it all from the air at The Wheel of Brisbane, a giant observation wheel with panoramic views over the city. It's in the Parklands at South Bank.
The City Hopper ferry service lets you discover the city for free. Ferries travel along the Brisbane River at 30-minute intervals, stopping at eight points along the way. It's completely free – all you need to do is hop on and hop off.
Once you've had your fill of the river, the CitySights Hop On Hop Off bus takes you further afield – to the Planetarium, the lavish Botanic Gardens, the Valley's unique shopping and South Bank's beaches. If you're short on time, it's a great option as it allows you to see the city sights in less than two hours.
If you've got the luxury of time, be sure to stop off at sophisticated South Bank, which boasts 17 hectares of parks, cultural events aplenty, the Gallery of Modern Art and some of the city's best dining. Numerous paths made it the ideal spot for a stroll or a leisurely bike ride.
