Open Air Cinema
The South Bank is Brisbane folks' playground and it has always been my favourite place to unwind and relax; with temperature on the rise, chillaxing on the rolling green lawn of the Rainforest Green seems to be the perfect day out. It just so happens that Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinemas is also taking place at that very spot – movie buffs will definitely enjoy the eclectic programme but, trust me, it’s an event everyone will love. All you need is a picnic blanket (or if you prefer something posher, hire a bean lounger) and you can kick back and spend an incredible night watching movies showing on a giant inflatable movie screen. Movies usually start at around dusk but you better get in early before all the sweet spots are claimed. What’s more, the organisers named their Sunday screenings the “Sundae Session”, which means FREE ice cream for all! Of course there will be snacks and drinks to keep your engine running all night.
The outdoor cinema event has been running all October and will go out with a bang on 15 November with their last Sundae Session. Gates will open at 5 pm, so make sure you head over early to grab the best seats and relax with some sunset music. What’s on? Back to the Future – wouldn’t miss it for the world!
